~FRIDAY MORNING JUNE 15, 2012~ 10:30 - Went into hospital for NST due to my blood pressure being up a bit. They didnt find anything worrisome about me but noticed Kallen had a heart arrhythmia. They requested I come back Monday.
~MONDAY JUNE 18,2012~ at 11:30am June 18th - Went in for second NST and blood pressure was up to high and they were unable to stabilize it. Nurse called midwife and midwife said she wanted me to see specialist. 12:00pm - Was told to go have lunch and come back in an hour. 1:00pm - Was put in a room to rest as I started feeling yucky. Specialist was busy in NICU so he was given a verbal report.
4:30pm - Was told to go home pack bag and come back to hospital at 6pm as I was being admitted and was to be induced next morning. 6:00pm - Admitted to hospital and was told Peter could not stay with me...had a bit of a freak out and midwife came to calm me down. She checked me and I was 1.5cm dialated, 50% effaced and Kallen was very very low. She said Peter could stay till 10pm and come back at 7am.
~TUESDAY JUNE 19, 2012~ at 7:00am door quietly opens and hubby tiptoes in with Mcdonalds breaky! 9:something Mum arrives and we all wait for midwife. 10:somthing midwife arrives to insert cervidil but decided to do a quick check first. Find out im now 1.5cm and 90% effaced she says we will go right to oxytocin. 11:21am drip starts, lady inserts a massive needle into my arm and I tell her im going to pass out. Hubby and mum become worried as i have had plenty IV's and never passed out or even came close. They explain that to lady as I then tell her im going to become sick. She brushes us all off. We are moved to L&D and shortly after i say to my nurse " should my arm be so swollen?" my nurse says NO and calls in another nurse, they say they will need to redo IV. I have a little spaze and say " I want the IV team!!" They get her and she takes out tube and say "oh my god why such a big tube? Of course you were feeling ill!" She puts in proper size and I dont even realize she has placed it until i look over and see it is done! ~Skip a bunch of boringness~ 7:00pm Midwive tries to
break waters but baby is so far down she cant see them. Im now only 2.5cm dialated and it was extremely painfull having the midwife and nurse up my bits! 9:00pm Midwife breaks water. As it hurt a lot the first time and I have still not dilated they have me use the gas to help with pain. Thing is i freak out as I get super high and then cant seem to come back down. The pain is so bad that i sob into the mask and when doing that cause my bag of waters to buldge. They ask me to cough over and over until i feel a WOOOSH of liquid. I take the mask off and breath and breath and cry. It was extremely painful and overwhelming and intense hard labour started! 10:30pm Contractions started to piggy back with very little time inbetween. I was in so much pain my body started to shut down. They had me try the shower and after one contraction I started to shout "Get me out! Get me out!" They got me out and onto bed and my mum and hubby actually saw my body levitate to try and get away from the pain. 11:00pm Midwife checked me and i was only 3.5cm!!!! Epi was ordered. I begged for a walking as i was so scared of not feeling my legs. Nurse said they didnt do them in our hospital yet. Dr. kept asking her if they had a drug so he could do it she kept saying no. 11:30 epi in...i can feel my legs! Dr. was able to give me a walking epi! No one believed me until i moved myself onto the squat bar and was able to move about. Thank heavens for epis!
~WEDNESDAY JUNE 20, 2012~ 12:30am we sent my mum home to get some sleep (she didnt sleep :P) i got about 2 hours of sleep although it was in and out as they were checking BP and what not the whole time. 2:30 told peter we should call my mum and told nurse to ask midwife to come check as i was having pressure in my bum. 3:00 midwife comes back and says she is going to give a bit longer as i was not showing hard contractions on monitor. 3:30 mum came back and midwife checked me...3:30-4:00am Fully Dilated told to start pushing! ............................................................................. 6:40am THEY CAN SEE HIS HEAD! They thought it was the back of his head.........8:00am Snip go the scissors for the episiotomy and WELCOME KALLEN CHRISTOPHER MATTHEW HARDY PAINE!.....The pulled him out and unhooked the cord from around his neck and cut it and passed him off to peds in the blink of an eye. They had to shock him back as he was blue and not breathing. I kept sobbing and asking if he is ok as he was not making any sound. Finally my mum said "Amy shhhhhh listen" a soft little mew could be heard. They let me kiss him and away Kallen and Daddy went to the NICU. After he was gone the OB came in and stitched me up. They did an in and out catheter and wanted to left me into wheel chair...no thank you i could do it myself! Midwife was very impressed! hehe was taken over to mother and babe to get settled in my room (private with bath...sigh) then put in another wheel chair and finally taken to see my baby. Poor thing was all hooked up to cords and IV. We tried to nurse a little later but his lungs still had fluid in them and he started to turn blue, the wisked him away from me and fixed him all up. We were told to come back in a few hours. When we came back and tried another nurse.....it worked! Kallen was able to come into my room 26 hours later.
